The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, during the Cabinet Meeting that he chaired on Sunday, stressed the need for including in Free Zones draft law “complete and final break” with previous practices.
In a statement to the Council of ministers, the President of the Republic issued instructions regarding the draft law on determining the rules applicable to the free zones, according to which it includes “a complete and final break, with all the contradictions and practices of the previous era of Algeria, to successfully and radically move into a new economic and development phase”.
In the same context, the President of the Republic stressed “the provision of all regulatory and framework conditions for various activities, as this field is a new era in transactions, especially with its African perimeter and its markets”.
The President also ordered that “utmost importance” to be given to combating smuggling in order to preserve national economic capabilities, especially in light of the unprecedented global fluctuations, stressing on “emphasizing, ensuring and using vigilance, to strictly implement measures to prevent the export of basic foodstuffs,” the statement said.
