President of the Republic stresses the need to expand shipbuilding activity across the entire coastal strip

President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune stressed today, Sunday in Algeria, the need to expand shipbuilding activity across the entire Algerian coastal strip, according to a cabinet statement.

Commenting on a presentation on the marine fisheries sector and fishing resources at the cabinet meeting he chaired, the President of the Republic praised “the progress and harmony between the Ministries of Interior, Industry and Maritime Fishing to carry out projects to expand shipbuilding activity in some areas, stressing the priority of expanding shipbuilding activity across the entire Algerian coastal strip, to actually go towards industrialization, according to a development plan for the sector through international partnerships, which raise the quality and quantity of fishing resources.

He also stressed the need for Algeria to restore its leadership in the maritime field through competition in investment and fish production.

In the same context, the President of the Republic called for the adoption of more facilities in the real estate field for real investors in the “wealth-producing and strategic” marine fishing sector, as it is a source of food security, added the press release.
