President of the Republic: The Arab Summit will be held during the last quarter of the current year

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed today, Tuesday, that there is no disagreement between Arab leaders on the organization of the next Arab summit in Algeria, noting that it will be held in the last quarter of the current year.

During the periodic meeting with representatives of the national media, the President of the Republic stressed that “there is no disagreement, but on the contrary, we have found nothing but encouragement from the brotherly Arab leaders, whether from the Gulf countries or sister Egypt, Tunisia and Yemen who are waiting for the Arab summit to be held in Algeria.”

The President of the Republic went on to say, in the same context “all the Arab brothers are waiting for the summit due to Algeria’s policy of remain at an equidistance between the parties at issue and not pour oil on the fire to provoke strife between countries, but rather tries to unite countries as much as possible.”

President Tebboune expressed his hope that the Algiers summit would produce “very positive” results, especially since “the Arab world needs them” adding, “Enough of discrimination.”

The President of the Republic believes that the Arab League today needs to “adjust its texts and laws.”

He pointed out that given the tour undertaken by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, to a number of Arab countries, everyone agreed on the holding of the Algiers Summit.

Regarding the date of the summit, the President of the Republic said, “it will be set at an official meeting of the foreign ministers of the Arab countries scheduled for next March in Cairo adding that the summit will be held in the last quarter of the current year and may be linked to a historic day for Algeria,” he also stressed that “we should not anticipate things , because the meeting of the brothers in March will determine the date of the summit.”
