President of the Republic: The money circulating in the parallel market in Algeria amounts to $90 billion

President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, revealed, today, Tuesday in Algiers, that the volume of money circulating in the parallel market in Algeria is estimated at 10 billion dinars, or the equivalent of $90 billion, calling on the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council to contribute to finding solutions to “this dilemma.” .

During a speech he delivered on the occasion of the installation of the council members at Palais des Nations venue in the capital, the President said that “the figures indicate that there is a financial mass of approximately 10 thousand billion dinars circulating in the parallel market, which is equivalent to 90 billion dollars.”

On this basis, the President of the Republic went on to say, “Algeria will not recourse to external debt” and “if necessary, it will resort to internal debt because there are huge funds hidden and it is time for these funds to be used in financing the economy and provide liquidity.”
