The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, announced that the tax on bakers’ activity will be limited to their profits only as from the end of next March.
In his regular meeting with representatives of the national media, which was broadcast this evening on public television and radio, the President of the Republic made it clear that bakers would only pay tax on profits only after taxes were imposed on both the turnover and profits.
This measure aims to reduce the tax burden in order to stabilize bread prices, “waiting for upcoming amendments that require more time,” according to the President of the Republic.
This decision will be introduced in the next complementary finance law, adds the President of the Republic.
