President of the Republic visits victims of forest fires at Ain Naadja and Douera Hospitals

President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, paid a visit to Ain Naadja Military Hospital and Douera Hospital for Major Burns (Algiers), during which he visited the victims, both civilians and soldiers, of the forest fires that have ravaged several regions of the country since last Monday.

President Tebboune visited, at the army’s central hospital, “Mohamed Seghir Nekkache,” the soldiers who were injured while saving families in the forest fires that hit the province of Tizi Ouzou.

The President of the Republic, who was accompanied on this visit by Chief of Staff of People’s National Army, Lieutenant-General Said Chanegriha, paid tribute to the heroes of national duty.

During his conversation with some of the injured soldiers in the recovery department, the President of the Republic committed to providing all the necessary means to take care of these “moujahidines who sacrificed for the sake of the homeland and to save lives.”

At the “Djilali Bounaama” hospital for major burns in Douera, the President of the Republic visited the various rooms in which civilians who were injured in these fires are admitted and took stock of the conditions for their hospitalization, reiterating before them the state’s commitment to “spare” no means and effort in order to take care of the injured, soldiers and civilians alike.

President Tebboune affirmed, on the occasion, that by next summer, Algeria will have acquired all necessary means to combat fires and a large hospital with international standards devoted to major burns will be set-up .

In the same context, the President of the Republic assured the families of the injured not to give any opportunity to anyone “to interfere between us,” adding that the fires in the province of Tizi Ouzou are “a criminal act that raises question marks.”

After he mentioned that some people suspected of starting the fires were arrested, he confirmed that the Algerian justice is doing its duty.

As for the murder of the young man, Djamel Bensmail, last Wednesday in the Larbaa Nath Irathen village in the province of Tizi Ouzou, the President of the Republic said that, as a former governor of Tizi Ouzou, he knows very well the citizens of that area and that the residents of Larbaa Nath Irathen have nothing to do with that incident.

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, also took the opportunity to praise the medical staff in its various components, which is suffering greatly due to Coronavirus pandemic, stressing that the White Army is “under the protection of the state.”
