The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent a message of condolences to the family of the late Chafia Boudraa, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 92, describing her as “a model and a school for generations of artists” and as “an artist worthy of the respect of her public, who remained faithful to her for many years”.
“I have learned with great sadness the news of the death of the late artist Chafia Boudrâa who has been called back to her Creator,” wrote the President of the Republic in his message of condolence.
“In this painful ordeal, we bid farewell to a leading figure in Algerian art who left her stamp on the history of Algerian theatre, television and cinema, along with several artists from the early days of independent Algeria,” he added.
“She was, for a long time, a model and a school for generations of artists, which earned her the respect of her public, who remained faithful to her for many years. Lala Aini was an artist of the same stature as the great international artists,” said President Tebboune.
“We can only resign ourselves to the will of Allah the Almighty. I can only offer my deepest condolences to the cultural family, to artists in general and to the relatives of the late woman in particular, praying that Allah will surround the deceased with His holy mercy, welcome her into His vast paradise and give her family patience and comfort. To God we belong…to Him we return”, concluded the President of the Republic.
