President Tebboune meets with the Emir of the State of Qatar in Doha

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, met on Sunday in Doha with His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim ben Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, as part of his two days visit in Qatar.

The President of the Republic and the delegation accompanying him were welcomed, at the Prince’s cabinet, by the Emir of the State of Qatar. The two leaders listened to the national anthems of both countries and reviewed a formation of Qatar’s princely guard, who gave them the honors.

Bilateral talks extended to ministers and officials from the two countries took place before the President of the Republic and the Emir of Qatar’s face-to-face meeting.

At the end of these talks, Sheikh Tamim ben Hamad Al-Thani offered a lunch in honor of President Tebboune and the delegation accompanying him.

The President of the Republic arrived in Doha on Saturday evening for a two-day state visit.

He was welcomed at Doha International Airport by Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and senior Qatari officials.

This visit “is part of the strengthening of fraternal relations between the two brotherly peoples and the promotion of bilateral cooperation, in consecration of the close and centuries-old relations uniting the two peoples and the leaders of the two countries”, according to a statement of the Presidency of the Republic.

At the end of this state visit, President Tebboune will participate in the 6th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), which will be held on Tuesday in Doha.

Mr. Tebboune is accompanied by a ministerial delegation made up of Ministers of Foreign Affairs and of the national community abroad, of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, of Energy and Mines, of Agriculture and of Rural Development , Housing, Town Planning and the City, Higher Education and Scientific Research and National Solidarity, the Family and Women Condition.
