President Tebboune urges UGTA to “get involved” in strengthening social front

President if the Republic, Abdelmajid Tebboune, in a message read on his behalf by Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad,  urges UGTA to “get involved” in strengthening social front. The message was read on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the UGTA creation and the 50th anniversary of hydrocarbon nationalization.

In his letter, President of the Republic, read by Algerian Prime Minister today Wednesday, urged the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA) to “get involved” in the efforts to strengthen and immunize the social front against attempts to insidiously exploit the difficult economic situation.

The message started by saying: Today (February 24) the Algerian people are commemorating the 65th anniversary of the UGTA creation and the 50th anniversary of hydrocarbon nationalization”. Adding: “In the light of a difficult economic situation coupled with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on society, the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA), which is a prestigious organization known for its long tradition of activism, is urged, like usual, to get involved in the efforts to strengthen and immunize the social front against attempts to insidiously exploit this situation by sowing doubt and confusion”.

“We are determined to speed up the process to deal with the social impact of this situation and gradually address the concerns of our brother and sister workers. We constantly work to ensure the implementation of programmes adopted by public authorities and their decisions,” affirmed the Head of State.

Concluding his message, President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, said: In conclusion, I repeat what I said on the same occasion last year: “I renew my pledge with you to rush to build a new strong republic without corruption or hatred”.
