Prime Minister Decides on Measures to Manage Health Crisis Related to Covid-19 – pandemic (Full press release)

Prime Minister, Abdelaziz Djerad, announced today, Thursday, a set of measures that must be put into effect under the title of Health Crisis Management Authority related to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

“In application of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense and at the end of consultations with the scientific committee for monitoring the evolution of Coronavirus pandemic (COVID -19) and the health authority, Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad has decided on the measures to be implemented under the system for managing the health crisis linked to the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) “, specified a press release issued by the services of the Prime Minister.

Still in line with the objective of preserving the health of citizens and protecting them against any risk of the spread of COVID-19 and supported by the approach based on “prudence, progressiveness and flexibility, these measures aim to renew the current protection and prevention system in view of the evolution of the epidemiological situation “.

The partial home confinement measure is extended, for a period of 15 days, from 11 p.m. to the next day at 4 a.m. and applicable in the following 9 wilayas: Batna, Biskra, Blida, Tebessa, Tizi-Ouzou, Algiers, Jijel, Sidi Bel Abbes and Oran.

The following 49 wilayas are not affected by the home confinement measure: Adrar, Chlef, Laghouat, Oum El Bouaghi, Bejaia, Béchar, Bouira, Tamenghasset, Tlemcen, Tiaret, Djelfa, Sétif, Saïda, Skikda, Annaba, Guelma, Constantine, Médéa, Mostaganem, M’Sila, Mascara, Ouargla, El Bayadh, Illizi, Bordj Bou Arréridj, Boumerdes, El Tarf, Tindouf, Tissemsilt, El Oued, Khenchela, Souk Ahras, Tipaza, Mila, Ain Defla, Naâma, Ain Temouchent, Ghardaia, Relizane, Timimoun, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Ouled Djellal, Beni Abbés, In Salah, In Guezzam, Touggourt, Djanet, El Meghaeir and El Meniaâ.

These containment measures are applicable, from Friday, April 16, 2021.

The walis can, after consent of competent authorities, take “all measures required by the health situation of each wilaya, in particular the establishment, modification or modulation of schedules, of the partial or total home confinement measure targeted by one or more municipalities, localities or neighborhoods experiencing sources of contamination “.

The Government invites citizens, in this particular period of the month of Ramadhan, month of sacrifice and discipline, to “continue their mobilization efforts to maintain the same degree of vigilance in this fight against the spread of Coronavirus (COVID- 19) in our country and to continue to scrupulously observe the recommended protection measures, such as physical distancing, wearing masks and frequent hand washing to avoid a rise in the pandemic “.
