The Prime Minister, Mr. Aïmene Benabderrahmane highlighted, on Tuesday in Algiers, the need to outline “promising” prospects for the Algeria-European Union (EU) energy partnership through a “collective” approach and an “inclusive approach”, inviting European partners to participate in the financing of energy projects in Algeria.
In the same context, Mr. Benabderrahmane called on all European companies and operators in the hydrocarbons sector “to work together with us to enable us to increase our hydrocarbon production capacities, particularly gas, which will allow us to guarantee our common interests, ensure energy security for both parties, and move towards an energy transition within the framework of sustainable development”.
In addition, Mr. Benabderrahmane recalled Algeria’s efforts in terms of legislative reforms aimed at improving the investment climate in Algeria and ensuring the financing of major investment projects, as well as the program for the development of renewable energies, indicating that a study is being finalized, which will make it possible to draw up a roadmap with defined outlines for the national strategy for the development of hydrogen.
He called on the European partners to “adhere to the various reform projects and to participate actively in the economic revival adopted by the Algerian government”.
