Prime Minister inaugurates workshops to review municipal and provincial laws

The Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Mr. Aïmene Benabderrahmane, inaugurates today, Tuesday, workshops to review the municipal and provincial laws, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister services.

According to the statement, the inauguration ceremony, which was held at the Government Palace, took place in the presence of the ministers in charge of the interior, agriculture, housing, communication, public works, transport, as well as the environment.

The statement indicated that the legal text review workshops consist of representatives of the two chambers of parliament and governors, as well as representatives of the relevant ministerial departments.

The Prime Minister – the statement added – made sure to remind, during the ceremony, that the revision of the texts governing local groups comes in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic given to the government in order to reform the legal framework related to local management.

It also stressed the importance that should be granted to the economic role of municipalities, which will allow the emergence of a real local economy that is one of the pillars of development and economic growth for our country.

The statement indicated that the work of these workshops, which will be supervised by the interior ministry, will allow the strengthening of the decentralization set by the public authorities, bearing in mind that the work of these workshops should be completed before the end of this year with the proposal of appropriate legal mechanisms in this field.
