
The Prime Minister, Mr. Aïmene Benabderrahmane held, on Tuesday evening in Washington, on the sidelines of his participation in the work of the United States-Africa summit in his capacity as representative of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, bilateral meetings with American business leaders and members of the American Congress.
Mr. Benabderrahmane received, in this context, the executive chairman of strategy in the company “Hecate Energy”, Mr. David Wilhelm, with whom he discussed the enormous potential of Algeria in the field of renewable energies and the government plans to develop this sector in the coming years by benefiting from the expertise and experience of American companies and its new techniques in this area.
The Prime Minister also received the head of the Exploration and Production branch of Chevron for the Middle East, North Africa and South America, Mr. Clay Neff, with whom he reviewed the projects of cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy and partnership and investment models that the two parties aspire to achieve.
The Prime Minister insisted, during his meetings with American economic operators, to highlight the attractiveness of investment and the new business climate in Algeria as well as the advantages offered.
Mr. Benabderrahmane also received US Senator Troy Nehls. The meeting made it possible to discuss Algerian-American relations and the means of strengthening them in various economic fields, in particular through the intensification of coordination and consultation between the two countries.
