Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, affirmed, today, Monday in Algiers, that “the difficult circumstances did not discourage the state’s determination to preserve its social character,” noting that the state’s efforts in the field of promoting social gains “translated into an improvement in Algeria’s position within international rankings.”

In the context of improving the purchasing power of retirees, the government approved an “increase in pensions and grants for the years 2021 and 2022 that ranged between 2 and 10 percent,” noting that this increase “was received as of May 1, 2022 and allocated more than 3,600,000 beneficiaries and resulted in a total financial impact of 93.44 billion dinars.
