Prime Ministry: Trade union rights should not be exercised at the expense of laws on settlement of collective disputes

Prime Ministry affirmed today in its communiqué that “seeking of adequate solutions to the various socio-professional claims must be done within the framework of a “progressive approach” that takes into account repercussions and fallout of the economic and health crisis that the country is facing.”

“The exercise of trade union rights must not be at the expense of the relevant laws, particularly with regard to the activation of the various mechanisms for the settlement of collective labor disputes by means of reconciliation, mediation and arbitration” add the Prime Ministry in its communiqué.

In case of failure of these mechanisms or of the dialogue, it is possible to resort to the strike within the framework of the total respect of the conditions established in the law.
