Rezig discusses with Lord Risby ways to develop commercial relations

Minister of Trade and Export Promotion Kamel Rezig received, today, Tuesday in Algiers, the personal representative of the British Prime Minister in charge of economic partnership with Algeria, Lord Richard Risby, with whom he discussed ways to support and develop bilateral cooperation in the commercial field, according to a ministry press release.

During this meeting, which took place in the presence of the British ambassador to Algeria, Sharon Wardle, the two sides stressed the “deep economic and trade relations that have linked the two countries for years,” according to the same statement.

In this regard, Rizig stressed that “the opportunity is available for economic operators to discuss and always expand partnership areas according to the win-win rule,” reviewing the broad outlines of the new government’s policy that encourages productive investment in partnership with foreigners, especially by granting many privileges and providing an appropriate business climate.

The minister also touched on “the possibility of concluding a partnership agreement between Algeria and Britain to introduce local products,” stressing the need to activate the joint business council, which would raise the volume of commercial exchanges.

For his part, the statement added, Lord Risby affirmed that “Algeria is a strategic partner of the Kingdom,” expressing “his country’s full readiness to exchange experiences, especially in the field of export and economic diversification mechanisms.”
