Russian water-bombing aircraft continues its operation to put out the remaining fires in El Tarf province

The chartered Russian water-bombing aircraft “Beriev BE200” continues its operation to extinguish the remaining fires in the forests of El Tarf province, according to a statement of the civil protection services.

The same source indicated Russian aircraft has carried out several flights to fight the fires after it was repaired.

The source added that the Russian plane fills its tanks with water at the Lake Birds before heading to the hotbeds of fires which are still burning in some regions.

It also mentioned that the Russian plane, which was supported by three helicopters, one of the Civil Protection and two of the National People’s Army, took off again at dawn today, Monday, to support the land teams made up of civil protection and forestry agents, to completely put off the remaining fires that still pose some threats.

It’s worth recalling that the Russian plane is a multi-task amphibious aircraft designed for firefighting missions, with a payload of up to 12,000 liters of water.
