Sahara International Rally – 2022 (fifth edition): The start of the first stage race from Ghardaia to El Menia for a distance of 280 km

The first stage (Ghardaia-Al-Menia) of the fifth edition of the Sahara International Rally for vehicles and motorcycles (15-19 November) kicked off this morning, for a distance of 280 km.

Algeria’s event is marked by the participation of two French crews (two drivers and two navigators), an Italian crew, a Dutch, a Belgian and a Libyan, in addition to about 50 Algerian drivers in the categories of four-wheel drive cars, motorcycles and SSVs.

The competition is organized for the first time by the Sahara “Event” team, with the contribution of the Algerian Federation of Mechanic Sports, which affirmed that the current edition of the rally is one of “very difficult races and is considered a purely Algerian edition (…) The Event team is motivated for adventure and we have great confidence in it from For the success of the edition..”

It’s worth recalling that the race continues tomorrow, Wednesday, in the desert surroundings of Al-Menia, with three stages (three stages of 180 km, 120 km and 135 km), then return on November 19 to Ghardaia as a fifth and final stage (280 km).

The last international rally organized by Algeria, for the motorcycle and car categories, dates back to 2018.
