Sahrawi President holds Morocco responsible for dangerous developments threatening peace and security in the region

Sahrawi President, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, held Wednesday the Moroccan occupying state responsible for the dangerous developments that threaten peace and security in the region.

In his speech while chairing a meeting of his cabinet, he said that “the Moroccan occupation state is responsible for the dangerous developments that threaten peace, security and stability in the region, due to its aggressive expansionist policies, including its open alliances with the forces of oppression and colonialism, and the adoption of its malicious agendas and supporting and encouraging organized crime groups and terrorist groups,” according to the Sahrawi Information Agency (SPS).

In this context, the Sahrawi president called on the UN Security Council and “in particular the parties known for their protection and encouragement to the Moroccan state, to assume their responsibilities, by establishing peace and security in the world and accelerating the decolonization of the last colony in Africa.

The secretary general of the Polisario Front sent a letter to the Sahrawi people, in which he invited him to defend its “inalienable right to freedom and independence, whatever the sacrifices and challenges”.

He welcomed the level of “positive interaction between the executive and legislative bodies,” stressing “the need to promote our young experience in this field in a way that takes into account the supreme national interest, on the basis of complementarity, as part of the implementation of the decisions of the fifteenth congress of the front, in the process of completing the sovereignty of the Sahrawi state over its entire national territory.

In this context, President Ghali once again appreciated the massive popular uprising “in response to the resumption of the armed struggle” and praised the bravery of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army, its “steadfastness and determination in the fields of glory and honor, as well as the activists, Sultana Khaya and her family, and all Sahrawi civilian prisoners in Moroccan jails, headed by the detainees of Gdeim Izik.
