The Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Lieutenant-General Saïd Changeriha, embarked on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, on a two-day working and inspection visit to the Fifth Military Region in Constantine, where he held an orientation meeting with the employees of this region and supervised the implementation of a night tactical exercise with live ammunition at the 1st Armored Division.
After the welcoming ceremony led by the Commander of the Fifth Military Region, Major General Noureddine Hambli and accompanied by Major General Hasnat Belkacem, Acting Head of the Department of Employment and Preparation of the Staff of the People’s National Army, Lieutenant-General Saïd Changeriha held a meeting with the executives and employees, where he delivered a orientation speech broadcast via videoconference to all units of the region, through which he affirmed that the united Algerian people had realized the background and dimensions of the various conspiracies being plotted against them in secret and in public, and were able to wisely avoid all maneuvers aimed at sowing chaos in the country in service of suspicious agendas:
“Algeria, the land of resistance and martyrdom, knows very well the value of national sovereignty, the value of independence, and the value of security and stability, because yesterday it experienced the bitterness of brutal colonial tyranny, and suffered from the scourge of barbaric terrorism, which has become a global dangerous phenomenon that threatens seriously the security and stability of peoples, and even their independence and national sovereignty.
In order to preserve this sovereignty and to preserve this independence, that we are preparing to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of its recovery, the unified and authentic Algerian people, imbued with their national values, were aware of the background and dimensions of the various conspiracies being plotted against them in secret and in public, and were able to avoid, with wisdom all maneuvers aimed at sowing chaos among the ranks of the united people.
The Lieutenant-General stressed, on the occasion, that the results achieved in combating terrorism across all military regions, and the strict response to all attempts provide it with arms and finance, all testify to the size of the sincere efforts of the homeland, which the People’s National Army has been making:
“There is no doubt that our concerted efforts in Algeria regarding the final uprooting of the heinous phenomenon of terrorism from our pure land, with our insistence on the continuous tightening of the measures to protect our long national borders, will undoubtedly contribute to combating this transnational phenomenon, in an effective manner.
The Lieutenant-General then followed with great interest the interventions and suggestions of the region’s executives, before he inspected some of the division’s units, where he met with its members and gave them a number of directions and recommendations related in particular to the need to continue combat preparation efforts with all seriousness and rigor, in accordance with the directive for preparing the forces 2021-2022, in order for the battle strength of the National People’s Army to reach the level of excellence in all fields.
