Water and Sanitation Company of Algiers (SEAAL) is carrying out works to repair a main production channel at the main station in the municipality of Bir Mourad Rais, which will cause the supply of drinking water to be suspended in the municipalities of Hydra and Bir Mourad Rais, according to a company press release.
The communiqué stated that the repair work, which began this morning at 8:00 am, is taking place at the main station in the municipality of Bir Mourad Rais, and caused the suspension of the supply of drinking water.
The cessation of water supply affects the municipality of Hydra completely, part of the municipality of Bir Murad Rais and Said Hamdine in the district of AADL, east and west of La Concorde district, 170 housing district, 108 housing of Said Hamdine and Sidi Yahya.
In the same communiqué, SEAAL confirmed that the process of re-supplying drinking water will be gradually resumed after the end of the works and the water company advises its customers to check that the taps are closed to avoid potential flooding when the water supply is restored, and to leave one of the cold water taps running at low flow for a few minutes, after the water supply is restored, to expel any air that may be in the connection channel.
The company apologized for the inconveniences caused by these works, and also placed at the disposal of customers the number of the company’s operational telephone reception center 1594, to receive their inquiries and concerns 24/24 hours and 7/7 days.
