Three (3) people died and another was injured in two separate serious traffic accidents that occurred from Saturday to Sunday in the province of Setif, according to civil protection services.
The person in charge of information and communication at the Directorate of Civil Protection, Captain Ahmed Lamamra, affirmed that the Civil Protection Emergency Squad of the municipality of Aïn Oulmène (south of Setif) intervened to evacuate the victims of a violent collision between a tourist vehicle and two motorcycles that occurred in National Road N28.
The accident resulted in the death of two (17-year-old) motorcyclists and the head and shoulder injury of the tourist vehicle driver, who were all transferred to Mohamed Boudiaf Hospital in the city.
Meanwhile, a family car derailed and overturned on State Road N 32, specifically in the region of the municipality of Tala Evassen (northwest of Setif) causing the death of its driver (23 years), whose body was transferred by the Civil Protection Emergency Squad of the same municipality to the health clinic of the municipality of Bouandas, according to Captain Lamamra.
It is worth noting that 107 traffic accidents have been recorded since the beginning of the current month of Ramadan, including nine (9) fatal accidents that caused the death of 11 people and the injury of more than 147 others, according to Captain Ahmed Lamamra, who pointed out that “motorcyclists were involved in the majority of accidents.”.
