On the sidelines of his participation in the Italian capital, Rome, in the third “Africa-Italy” ministerial meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, held a working session with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of San Marino, Luca Beccari, devoted to studying the reality of bilateral relations between the two countries and prospects for strengthening them.
The session concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding establishing a mechanism for political consultations between the two countries’ foreign ministries.
This memorandum aims at promoting political, economic and cultural relations between Algeria and San Marino, as well as strengthening and consolidating the bonds of friendship between their peoples.
This agreement also stipulates that the two parties hold regular political consultations on bilateral cooperation and regional and international issues of common interest.
It is worth mentioning that the Republic of San Marino on the Italian peninsula, with a population of about 30,000 people, is a full member of the United Nations and is linked by an association agreement with the European Union.
