Skikda Port Corporation: Exporting more than 325,000 tons of clinker during the first 4 months of 2022

The port establishment of Skikda managed to export 325,415 tons of clinker during the first four months of the current year 2022, according to the media and communication cell of the same institution.

Abdelmalek Hamidcha, in charge of information and communication with the same institution, confirmed that by exporting this quantity, the institution exceeded the established annual target estimated at 274 thousand and 907 tons.

The same source attributed this result to the facilitating operational measures taken to encourage and accompany economic dealers and promote exports.

The same spokesman also confirmed that the clinker was exported through the port of Skikda to many European, African and American markets such as Germany, France, England, Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria and Mexico.

On the other hand, the source reported that this clinker was exported by 4 economic dealers, such as the industrial complex of Algerian cement “GICA” and the “Lafarge Algeria” cement complex, where 4 berths were allocated at the level of the port institution of Skikda to export this material.

Mr. Hamidcha added that a new large-sized crane or what is known as “Shiploader” will soon be acquired, with a lifting capacity of 2,000 tons per hour, with a financial cost of 3 million and 393 thousand euros, which will facilitate the process of lifting clinker and increase the production capacity and charging speed.

This device will also allow, according to the same source, to preserve the environment and public health in accordance with the international standards in use.
