
The national hydrocarbon company Sonatrach achieved an export turnover at the end of May 2022 of 21.5 billion dollars, against 12.6 billion dollars at the end of May 2021, an increase of 70%, indicated a review of the group’s achievements during the first 5 months of the current year.
Primary hydrocarbon production reached 79.2 million tons of oil equivalent (TOE) at the end of May 2022, up 2% compared to the results at the end of May 2021, specified the report presented by the Director of Performance Management within the group, Mohamed Rochdi Boutaleb during a press conference animated Sunday at the headquarters of Sonatrach.
The volume of hydrocarbon sales (exports + National market) amounted to 67 million TOE, up 0.3% compared to the achievements at the end of May 2022, while imports of petroleum products reached a volume of 95,000 tons, down 14% compared to the same period.
With regard to the reception and commissioning of projects during the same period, the report presented cited the “Hassi Bir Rekaiz Phase I” oil deposit, carried out in partnership with the Thai public company for exploration and production Petroleum (PTTEP) and the Supervision Center for the Pipeline Network.
During the first 5 months of 2022, the Sonatrach group also signed the 2nd contract for the exploration and production of hydrocarbons under the aegis of law 19-13, on the Zarzaitine deposit with the Chinese partner SINOPEC and the signing of contracts for the Methyl Tert-Butyl Ether “MTBE” Unit projects in Arzew and the LNG storage tank in Skikda.
The report also includes the realization of four (04) new hydrocarbon discoveries, including one (01) in partnership.
