Spanish Foreign Minister: Sahrawi president will leave Spain when his medical treatment ends

The head of the Spanish diplomacy, Arancha Gonzalez Laya, affirmed on Tuesday that the Saharawi president, Brahim Ghali will leave Spain at the end of his hospitalization.

The Spanish minister recalled, during a press conference, that President Ghali was admitted to a hospital in Spain for “humanitarian reasons”, adding that “When these humanitarian reasons end, Mr. Ghali will obviously leave Spain”.

“Brahim Ghali is recovering in Spain after being infected with Covid-19,” the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in Algiers, Abdelkader Taleb Omar.

Taleb Omar affirmed that President Ghali has not received any summons for any pending investigation, stressing that “the harassment on the person of the Saharawi president is part of a media campaign led by Morocco aiming to confuse the Sahrawi cause “.

For his part, the representative of the Polisario Front in Spain, Abdullah Arabi denied what was reported by the media about the alleged summons by the Spanish courts of the Secretary General of the Polisario Front.
