
Civil protection personnel in the province of Mascara, on Friday night to Saturday, retrieved the bodies of two children from a water pond in a village in the municipality of Tizi who drowned in it, in circumstances that are still unknown, according to what was learned today, Saturday, at the media cell of the Directorate of Civil Protection in the province.
Civil protection elements, according to the person in charge of information in the Civil Protection Directorate of the province of Mascara, First Lieutenant Taher Mhenni, received a report of the disappearance of two children in the municipality of Tizi, aged 14 and 15.
Members of the diving squad of the main unit of civil protection in the city of Mascara found the bodies of the two victims in a dry valley with a water pool in the village of Al-Sanaisa, and after they were recovered, they were transferred to the corpses department at Al-Tayeb Hospital in Mascara.
The Wali of Mascara, accompanied by the security authorities, attended part of the search and rescue operation of the civil protection services at the site, while the National Gendarmerie opened an investigation into the causes of the accident.
