A person was killed after being run over by a train transporting goods today, Saturday, in Sidi Bel Abbes, according to the information and communication cell of the civil protection services.
The same source explained that a freight train coming from Oran towards Tlemcen ran over a man in an unguarded railway corridor in the Sidi Djilali neighborhood.
He pointed out that the body of the 39-year-old victim was transferred to the mortuary department at the University Hospital Center, while the concerned authorities opened an investigation into the circumstances of this accident.
For reference, the civil protection services in the province of Sidi Bel Abbes have recorded three traffic accidents since Friday, killing two people and injuring eight others, with injuries of varying severity.
