The head of the Employment-Preparation Department of the People’s National Army (ANP) General Staff, Major General Hasnat Belkacem, received on Thursday in Algiers, the Commander of the United States Military Command in Africa (Africom), General Michael Langley, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense (MDN).
“On the second day of his working visit to Algeria, leading a large military delegation, General Michael Langley, Commander of the United States Military Command in Africa (Africom), was received on Thursday, February 9th, 2023, by the head of the Status-Preparation Department of the People’s National Army General Staff, Major General Hasnat Belkacem, at the National Army Club where they held a working session with delegations from both countries,” the statement notes
During this meeting, the two parties “discussed issues of common interest and exchanged views on ways and means to consolidate and develop military cooperation between the armies of the two countries,” the same source said.
