The Minister of Fisheries listens to the concerns of fishermen and sailors in the port of the capital

Hichem Sofiane Salaouatchi, Minister of Fisheries and Fisheries Products, listened today, Monday, during his visit to the fishing port in the capital to the professional and social concerns of sailors and fishermen.

A ministry communiqué stated that Salaouatchi’s visit to the port coincided with the date of the fishermen’s departure for a fishing trip, which made them take advantage of the opportunity to review a number of professional and social concerns.

On this occasion, the fishermen and seafarers called for “improving services at the port level” and “to take care of them in case of sick holidays and the period of cessation of marine fishing activity due to climatic disturbances.”

The minister’s visit aims, according to the communiqué, to “listen to the concerns of professionals, including captains of ships, sailors and representatives of the National Chamber of Maritime Fishing and Aquaculture.”
