The President of the Republic congratulates the Algerian people on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr

President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune delivered a speech, today Wednesday, to the Algerian people on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr. This is the full text:

“In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and may God bless and grant peace to our Prophet, our Imam, our Master Mohamed, a thousand prayers and peace be upon him.

O fellow citizens,

Peace, mercy and blessings of God Almighty,

Yesterday we were awaiting the new moon of Ramadan, and we are now saying goodbye to it, asking the Almighty, the Highest, to accept our fasting and prayers.

Eid Mubarak

It is an opportunity, through which I call on my fellow citizens to more vigilance and keenness to adhere to preventive measures for the Coronavirus pandemic, which continues to kill lives and destroy the world’s economies, despite the tremendous capabilities that have been mobilized to combat it and reduce its disastrous effects in various fields.

Just as the values of solidarity known to our proud people were lit in the month of mercy and forgiveness, what is required of us today, while living in the joy of Eid, is to preserve this spirit and values.

I won’t miss on this great occasion, the opportunity to recall the sacrifices of the brotherly Palestinian people, who resist the occupation and are struggling in these circumstances against the violation of the Immaculate Sanctuary, the first of the two Qibla of the Holy Qods. Despite their suffering, we wish them a happy and blessed Eid in Gaza and the West Bank.

O fellow citizens,

I renew my sincere congratulations to you and my best wishes for continuous blessings of synergy and brotherhood, and I pray to our patients for a quick recovery, and to those who left us without being able to complete the month of fasting I pray for their mercy and forgiveness.

Blessed and happy Eid to a safe and prosperous Algeria.

Long live Algeria, a free and proud country. Glory and eternity to our righteous martyrs. Peace be upon you and the mercy and blessings of God Almighty.
