The President of the Republic had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune had, on Tuesday, a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to whom he reiterated his sincere condolences following the devastating earthquake that struck his country, says a statement of the Presidency of the Republic.

“The President of the Republic, Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune, had a telephone conversation on Tuesday with his brother, the President of the Turkish Republic, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during which he reiterated to him, on his behalf and on behalf of the Algerian people, his sincere condolences for the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit a large part of south-eastern Turkey,” the statement said.

The President of the Republic affirmed that “Algeria will stand by Turkey to overcome this ordeal which has plunged the Turkish people into mourning,” the same source added.

He also underlined “Algeria’s readness to provide and send aid to Turkey,” the statement said.

For his part, “the Turkish President thanked his brother, the President of the Republic, for having provided help and assistance from the first hours of this terrible disaster”, welcoming “Algeria’s position of solidarity”, the statement concluded.
