The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, ordered today, Mondayduring a cabinet meeting to create a new university specialization to train Algerian students and executives in the field of seawater desalination, according to a cabinet statement.
The statement indicated that the President of the Republic ordered “the creation of a new university specialization to train Algerian students and executives in the field of seawater desalination, given the progress we have achieved in this vital field,” noting that “Algeria produces more than two million seven hundred thousand cubic meters. It is one of the leading countries in this field.”
Regarding the establishment of a national water desalination agency, the President of the Republic praised “all the efforts made by the various national partners and with Algerian capabilities, to protect national water security, in the face of what the world knows of fluctuations and scarcity of water resources.”
In this context, the statement adds, “The President expressed his thanks to all the tires that contributed to this qualitative shift, in order to provide drinking water to the citizen.”
