The Sahrawi President on a state visit to Venezuela

The President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Brahim Ghali, arrived in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, this Sunday for an official visit at the invitation of his counterpart, Nicolas Maduro.

The President of the Sahrawi Republic and Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, started a state visit to Venezuela on Sunday, marking the celebration of 40 years of diplomatic relations between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

The visit is part of the commemoration of forty years of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Venezuela and the SADR, as an expression of fraternity, friendship and solidarity between the two peoples and countries. It will also be an opportunity to strengthen relations of cooperation, consultation and joint coordination on various issues of common interest.

The visit of the Saharawi President to this Latin American country also confirms the position of both countries and their role in the defence of a just world order, based on respect for international legitimacy and the rights of peoples to sovereignty, self-determination and independence.

The President of the Republic is accompanied in this visit by an important delegation including the members of the national secretariat of the Polisario Front: Mohamed Sidati and Fatima al-Mahdi, respectively: The Minister of Foreign Affairs and The Minister of Cooperation.

The Sahrawi President’s visit to the Latin American country is expected to be a significant step towards consolidating the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
