Third round qualifiers (Algeria-Cameroon): Statistics in favor of “Untamed Lions”

The draw for the third and final round of the FIFA World Cup-2022 in Qatar, which took place today, Saturday, in Douala (Cameroon), put the Algerian football national team against Cameroon next March, first leg in Cameroon and second leg in Algeria.

Prior to this deciding double confrontation, the two teams played seven times against each other in official matches and twice in friendly matches.

According to the history of the Algerian-Cameroon official football matches, the “Untamed Lions” managed to win five matches, while two matches ended in a draw.

In total, Algeria and Cameroon played nine matches including the two friendly meetings that Algeria won (4-0) in 1995 in Gabon and (6-5) in 1991 in Dakar after penalty kicks.

The last confrontation between the two teams dates back to 2016, when Cameroon won (2-0) in the second leg of the World Cup-2018 in Russia, after the first leg in Blida ended in a 1-1 draw.
