Thunderstorms hit a number of the country’s provinces as from Friday evening with over 50 mm locally

Thunderstorms are expected to hit a number of the country’s provinces as from Friday evening until tomorrow, Saturday, with rain quantities likely to exceed 50 mm locally, according to the forecasts of the National Office of Meteorology.

A special bulletin of the National Office of Meteorology indicated that “A second-level alert, related to thunderstorms that will hit, as from today evening, some of the country’s provinces, with rain quantities ranging between 30 to 40 mm, and likely to exceed 500 mm locally.”

The thundrstorms will concern the province of: “Oran, Ain Timouchent, Mostaganem, Tlemcen, Tipaza, Chlef, Algiers, Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou, Skikda Jijel, Bejaia, Relizane, Mascara, North Sidi Bel Abbas, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Medea, Ain Defla, Blida and Bouira.”

As for “the validity of this bulletin, it will extend from today evening until tomorrow, Saturday, at 18 pm,” according to the data issued by the Met Office.
