Eleven people died and 196 others were injured in various traffic accidents in the last 24 hours across several provinces of the country, said Sunday a statement of Civil Protection.
The heaviest tolls were recorded in the province of Tiaret following a crash Sunday morning at 6:20 am between a vehicle and a truck on the national road 90, in the town of Chehaima, causing the death of 3 people and injured 2, and in the province of Skikda following a crash between 2 vehicles at a location known as Menzal el Abtal, in the town of Azzaba, where 3 people died and 7 others were injured.
Civil Protection also intervened to extinguish 2 fires in the provinces of Bejaia and Tizi-Ouzou. In Tizi Ouzou, a fire that broke out in a fast-food restaurant in downtown Draâ Ben Khada caused respiratory problems to two people.
