Three (3) people died and 126 others sustained injuries of various degrees in traffic accidents that occurred during the last 24 hours in several provinces of the country, according to a statement issued today, Sunday, by the civil protection services.
With regard to activities related to preventing the spread of the Corona virus (Covid-19), the same source explained that during the same period, the civil protection units carried out 17 awareness-raising operations across the national territory for the benefit of citizens, urging them to comply with the prevention measures and social distancing, in addition to carrying out 19 sterilization operations in public and private facilities and structures, as well as residential areas and streets.
During the same period, the statement adds, the services of civil protection intervened to rescue 33 people suffering from difficulties and shortness of breath as a result of inhaling carbon monoxide (CO), emitted from various heating devices and water heaters across several provinces including Medea, Mascara, Constantine, Djelfa and Batna.
Civil protection units also intervened, during the same period, to extinguish 4 different urban fires in the wilayas of Batna, Tebessa, Skikda and Boumerdes, without recording any casualties.
