A statement of the Tunisian Foreign Ministry indicated that “The Republic of Tunisia expresses its deep satisfaction and welcomes the signing by the Palestinian brothers of the Declaration of Algiers stemming from the “Unification Conference to Achieve Palestinian National Unity,” and considers it an important step to achieve national unity in order to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.”.
The same source added that Tunisia commends the pivotal role played by the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in sponsoring the talks, providing all necessary conditions for their success and encouraging all Palestinian parties to dialogue and iron out their divergences in order to implement the legitimate aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people to exercise his full rights.
On this occasion, Tunisia reiterates its firm position on the just Palestinian cause, its permanent support for the brave Palestinian people, and its active participation in supporting all serious initiatives that would enable a just and comprehensive settlement of the just Palestinian cause, in a way that returns the rights to their owners.
