Two friendly matches opposing national U-23 team against Palestinian national team

The Algerian national U-23 football team will face its Palestinian counterpart in two friendly matches during its next training session in Algeria, scheduled for May 18, as the last preparatory stage before heading to France to participate in the 48th edition of the “Maurice Revello” tournament (formerly Toulon Tournament). slated from May 29 to June 12, the FAF reported today, Thursday, on its official website.

According to the same source, the national team for this age group finished its preparatory training at the National Technical Center in Sidi Moussa (Algiers) yesterday, Wednesday, which included a friendly match with Akaber Nejm Ben Aknoun (win 2-1).

This match allowed “to repeat the plans set by the national coach, Noureddine Ould Ali, who focused on several aspects, most notably the attack,” according to the FAF statement.

The national coach also confirmed in a statement to the FAF’s website that “This helps us in preparing for the upcoming tournaments, most notably the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.”

Since taking over the U-23 team, the national coach, Ould Ali, has held three preparatory trainings, knowing that he invited 27 local players in the last training.

This category is preparing for the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations-2023, where the first qualifying round will take place from 19 to 27 September, while the African Finals will be held between 2 and 26 November 2023, pending the determination of the organizing country, knowing that this continental competition will qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games  in Paris.
