The Ministry of Water Resources and Water Security announced, in a statement, Monday, the lifting of the freeze on several projects with the aim of improving the public drinking water service in the wilaya of Bordj Bou Arreridj.
This is specifically related to the study and completion of a project to supply the industrial zone “Mechta Fatma” as well as the residents at the level of the hallway “Textar-Bourj Bou Arreridj-Hamadia” with drinking water.
In addition, the construction of new wells to enhance the supply of drinking water to municipalities, as well as the expansion of networks across the province’s municipalities, according to the statement.
This measure comes in accordance with the visit of the Minister of the Sector, Karim Hosni, to Bordj Bou Arreridj on January 6, when it was decided to take urgent measures to remedy the deficit recorded in the supply of drinking water in the province due to the low level of the Ain Zada Dam, which supplies 11 municipalities and a large part of the province capital.
