The Permanent Representative of Algeria to the United Nations, Ambassador Sofiane Mimouni, had a fruitful bilateral meeting with the former President of the United Nations General Assembly, Volkan Bouzkir, in which the two parties addressed many issues that were on the agenda of the 75th session of the General Assembly.
The meeting was an opportunity in which Ambassador Mimouni congratulated Mr. Volkan Bozkir on his “brilliant presidency”, according to a tweet on the official account of the Algerian Mission to the United Nations via Twitter on Monday.
In a tweet, Mr. Bozkir wrote: “I thank Ambassador Mimouni, the representative of Algeria to the United Nations, for his visit to me today (Monday), and for the support he provided me during my presidency of the General Assembly for the historic 75th session.”
The past Turkish diplomat, Volkan Bozkir, is scheduled to hand over the presidency to his successor, Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid, who will take over the work of the 76th session of the General Assembly, which will start later today, after adjourning the work of the 105th plenary session of the 75th session of the Assembly.
