US administration confirms its support to UN process in Western Sahara

US State Department Spokesman, Ned Price, confirmed yesterday that the United States « will continue to support the UN process to implement a just and lasting solution” to the conflict” in Western Sahara.

“We’ll also support the work of the mission of the United Nations concerned with the referendum in Western Sahara, and also with the ceasefire monitoring and violence prevention in the area, Added Ned Price during a press conference held yesterday Monday.

For reference, the announcement by former US President Donald Trump on Western Sahara is still the subject of severe dissatisfaction both in Western Sahara and across international scene. Americans, Sahrawi and other free voices were loud in addressing new President, Joe Biden, to reverse the declaration of his predecessor regarding his recognition of Morocco’s alleged “sovereignty” over Western Sahara.
