Saudi national team made a heavy-caliber surprise by defeating Argentina, one of the strongest candidates for the world title, 2-1 in the first half (0-1) today, Tuesday, at Lusail Stadium, as part of the first round of Group C.
The Argentine star opened the scoring in the 10th minute through a penalty kick, but in the second half the Saudis reversed the situation by scoring two goals through Saleh Al-Shehri (45) and Salem Al-Dosari (53).
This is the first loss for the Argentine national team after 36 matches without defeat, and thanks to this historic victory, the Saudi national team, led by French coach Hervé Hunar, temporarily leads the standings, awaiting the second match between Bologna and Mexico today at 17:00.
