Zeralda training centre: MCA obtains construction permit

MC Alger has obtained the construction permit for its training centre in Zeralda (west of Algiers) which will be built by the national company of civil engineering and building (GCB), a subsidiary of Sonatrach, said Sunday a press release of the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

“The concretisation of this project is a result of the last meeting on Saturday 24 April 2021 which brought together officials from the energy and mining sector, Sonatrach, Youth and Sports, local authorities as well as representatives of supporters’ committees and former MCA players,” the same source said.

The works of the training centre of MC Alger, situated in Zeralda, will start after the month of Ramadhan, according to the orders given by the wali of Algiers Youcef Chorfa to speed up the delivery of all the authorisations related to the implementation of this project.

In a press release published on 24 November 2020, the management of MC Algiers had deplored the delay in the start of construction works on the preparation and training centre, “despite the fact that it had paid the costs relating to the acquisition of the land from the state property department”.

The MCA paid 80 billion centimes to acquire Zeralda site, which covers an area of 4 hectares.

The project should be delivered in August 2021, coinciding with the celebration of the hundredth anniversary of the creation of the Algerian club.
