Zionist occupation forces arrested, last April, 1,228 Palestinian citizens, including 165 children and 11 women

The Zionist occupation forces arrested, last April, 1,228 citizens from the occupied Palestinian territory, including 165 children and 11 women, which is the highest rate of arrests since the beginning of this year, according to the monthly report issued by the prisoners and human rights institutions today, Monday.

The arrests – according to the report – were marked by serious violations against the detainees and their families, including after their transfer to investigation and detention centers, in addition to the recording of various injuries, some of which are severe injuries among the detainees, shot by the occupation army.

The institutions confirmed that the occupation forces shot at detainees, in addition to their policy of collective punishment that affected the majority of their families through vandalism and destruction of homes, intimidation and threats of arrest, and the use of police dogs and other methods.

The report stated that the number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the prisons of the Zionist occupation amounted to about 4700, until the end of last April, including 32 female prisoners, 170 minors, and more than 600 administrative detainees.
