A minute’s silence in memory of former FLN player Abdelhamid Zouba, who died on Wednesday night, will be observed at all stadiums in Algeria this weekend, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) announced on Thursday.

“The FAF invites all officials and teams taking part in this weekend’s championship matches in all divisions to observe a minute’s silence before the start of each match in tribute to the memory of the late Abdelhamid Zouba, a former international player with the glorious FLN team and a former national coach, who died on Wednesday, February 2, 2022,” said a statement from the federal body published on its official website.

The 17th round of the Ligue 1 championship and the 16th round of the Ligue 2 championship will take place next Saturday.
