Ministry of National Education announces the working hours in schools during the month of Ramadan

The Ministry of National Education announced today, Tuesday, the arrangements related to the working hours in schools during the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1443 AH.

According to a statement of the General Directorate of Public Service and Administrative Reform, the daily study hours extend from seven o’clock in the morning until two o’clock in the afternoon for the provinces of Adrar, Laghouat, Biskra, Bechar, Tamanrasset, Ouargla, Illizi, Tindouf, El Oued, Ghardaia, Tamimoun, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Ouled Djelal and Beni Abbas, in addition to the provinces of Ain Saleh, Ain Guezzam,  Touggourt , Djanet , El M’Ghair and El Menia.

As for the other provinces, the study hours are from eight thirty (08.30) in the morning until three thirty (15.30) in the afternoon.

With regard to primary education in one-shift schools, the morning and afternoon shifts have been reduced by half an hour (30 min), provided that the morning shift includes a fifteen (15) minute break.

It was noted that the morning and afternoon shifts are separated by a break of an hour and forty-five minutes (1.45 min).

As for primary schools that operate on a double-shift system, the morning and afternoon shifts have been reduced by one hour, provided that they have a fifteen (15) minute break, and there is an interval of thirty (30) minutes between them.

According to the Ministry of National Education, all programmed activities have been adapted according to the specified time.

In the intermediate and secondary educational phases, the one-hour educational period was reduced by fifteen (15) minutes, provided that the morning and afternoon shifts are separated during a 15-minute break.

The ministry’s statement concluded by indicating that the return to normal working hours will be after Eid Al-Fitr marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
