Following the fires that broke out in the forests of the eastern provinces of the country such as El Tarf, Souk Ahras, Skikda, Bejaia, Setif, Jijel and Annaba in the Fifth Military Region, the High Command of the People’s National Army mobilized Air Force helicopters to participate in the firefighting operation, according to a statement of the Ministry of National Defense.
The same statement indicated that, “following the fires that broke out in the forests of those eastern provinces, the Supreme Command of the People’s National Army mobilized helicopters belonging to the Air Forces to participate in the firefighting operation, especially in areas with rugged terrain that are difficult to reach. This constituted a great support for the work of the National People’s Army detachments in the field to participate in putting out the fires that broke out in various forested areas and affected villages.
The People’s National Army, as part of its noble humanitarian missions – adds the same source – and despite the strong winds that prevented helicopters from interfering in some areas, “will spare no effort and will not hesitate in mobilizing all its material and human means until it the total extinction of all the fires.”
