A government reshuffle affects 6 ministerial portfolios in the government of Aïmene Benabderrahmane

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, proceeded on Thursday to a ministerial reshuffle of the government led by the Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, and which affected six portfolios

This reshuffle saw the arrival of five new ministers and the change of portfolio for Mr. Kamel Beldjoud who left the Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities and joined that of Transport, replacing Mr. Moundji Abdellah appointed Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic in replacement of Mr. Mohamed El Amine Messaid, who died last August.

In terms of new ministers who have joined the government, Mr. Brahim Merad (Mediator of the Republic) has been appointed Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Regional Planning, Mr. Kamel Bidari (Rector of the University of M’sila) was appointed Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, while Mr. Lakhdar Rakhroukh, CEO of the Cosider Group, was given the post of Minister of Public Works, a department to which were added hydraulics and basic infrastructure.

Mr. Ali Aoun, who until then held the position of Director General of the Central Hospital Pharmacy (PCH), was appointed Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, replacing Mr. Djamel Benbahmed, when Mr. Abdelhak Saihi (Secretary General of the Ministry of Health) was entrusted with the portfolio of this ministerial department, replacing Mr. Abderrahmane Benbouzid, called to other functions.

Following this reshuffle, the Department of the Environment, occupied by Mrs. Samia Moualfi, was also entrusted with Renewable Energies.

It was also proceeded with the merger of the delegate ministries in charge of the Knowledge Economy and Start-ups with the delegate ministry in charge of Micro-enterprises and their promotion to the rank of ministry in its own right, entrusted to Mr. Yacine El -Mahdi Oualid.

This ministerial reshuffle was announced a few weeks ago by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, assuring that it is part of “the natural order of things”.
